Description

The Koreshan State Historic Site is a place where visitors can take a hike along the nature trail, picnic, rent a canoe and even camp. The camping facility offers 60 sites, each with electricity, water, a picnic table and a fire ring. In season, approximately December through March, campers can enjoy special programs on Saturday nights. There is also a children's playground and restrooms. The site originated from the Koreshan settlement, a small colony with distinct religious beliefs regarding the universe. A number of original buildings and a garden have been maintained at this historic site and are open for visitors to take self-guided or ranger-led tours.
