Baseball fans - plan an outing to Hammond Stadium to watch the the Fort Myers Miracle baseball team. The season runs April through early September. The Miracle is one of twelve Advanced-A Florida State League teams and is an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. This baseball team has seen many changes since being founded in 1926: different names, different cities and different divisions. They moved to Fort Myers in 1992 and have since been in the playoffs a number of times, making it to the Championship series in 1995 and 2008 and winning the Championship in 2014. Hammond Stadium has a seating capacity of 7,500. For the true baseball enthusiast, the Miracle offers free private tours of Hammond Stadium Monday-Friday from 9:30am until 2:30pm - make your reservation at least 7 days in advance.
