Located west of Fort Myers across the Caloosahatchee River, Cape Coral is the largest city in
Southwest Florida, with an area of 120 square miles and a population of over 165,000. This peninsula city was founded in
1957 and developed as a master-planned "bedroom" community. Access to Cape Coral is from the north via US41 or from the
east via the Midpoint Bridge (at Colonial Boulevard) or Cape Coral Bridge (at College Parkway). While Cape Coral does
not offer significant beach access, of significance is its miles of canals offering boaters backyard access, its
community parks, several golf courses, the Cape Harbour Marina and Sun-Splash Family Water Park.
