Billie Swamp Safari Wildlife Park Description:
The Billie Swamp Safari and Wildlife Park is a lush 2,200-acre section of the Big Cypress Reservation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida open to the public. They offer daily swamp buggy tours into the reservation wetlands, where you are likely to see deer, water buffalo, bison, wild hogs, alligators, and rare birds. Additionally, you may choose to take an airboat ride. The site also features a 1-1/2 mile boardwalk nature trail where you will encounter all sorts of lush plant life (wheelchair accessible) and complete camping facilities. Here you can rent a “chickee”, which is a native-style hut, complete with linens, towels and lanterns. There is a full service restaurant onsite and the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum (www.seminoletribe.com/museum).
